looks to be the right amount of rollers in the race.. some bearings are built like that..

its cheaper to build one race that fits lots of bearings, rather than 2 different races..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

if you shove it back up and in there does it work to stop the moving of the steering shaft?

that is what I would do and then does there happen to be some sort of keeper that needs to go in there as well?  Or is that yellow jobby have a screw on it that keeps it up there?

had the same thing happen to me when i was swapping steering columns, just shove it in, ziptie or two to keep it there and you're golden. throw some grease on it for added smoothness :P

Hose clamp FTW..  I was tempted to be good and actually replace that bearing once upon a time.. Then they were I think $30...   75 cent hose clamp works just fine for me...

I like the hose clamp method myself also. Plus, that bearing is a total PITA to install if you use a new one.
