ALH ECU difference
« on: August 19, 2011, 01:32:04 pm »
Can I replace a 038 906 012 FD ECU with a 038 906 012 GN ecu? I suspect the difference is the immobilizer. Can I get around it with vag-com?

I'm not personally familair with either code, but if either has an immo then no you cannot! The immo is specific to the trio ecu, ignition key, and cluster! Also vag com isn't much help with immo you'll need an ecu programming person to take the immo out or recode it. IIRc the cluster actually has the immo brain but the programmer can tell the ecu not to check for it.
