98 jetta tdi blows fuse on fan control module

the chip fuse not the band fuse, and when it blows AC won't work. I don't have a bentley for the vehicle and don't know what to do. it had a 20 amp in there when I got the car, that one started blowing the second the AC was turned on, replaced with a 30 amp and it worked for an hour or so yesterday then blew and now it blows a 30 instantly too. anyone? it's my gf's car she beetches when there's no AC help me out people I aint gettin any lol.
Look, if corn and kudzu fall in love and have a baby in a lab under the supervision of scientists working in my employ, WHO AM I TO STOP THAT other than the CEO responsible for stopping it???

The fan is most likely drawing too much current.  Before replacing make sure that there is no debris or that the bearing/bushing on the second fan (assuming you have one.... you should) hasn't failed.

I think his fan is shot.   The compressor doesn't draw any real current, and doesn't draw it from the fan control module.

I went through the wiring diagram with him and that was the conclusion.

Simple diagnostic incurring about $1 worth of parts.

1. unplug rad fan. turn AC on. fuse blows? replace fan motor. Fuse doesnt blow? move to step 2.

2. unplug compressor clutch. Fuse still blows? need more diagnosis. Fuse does not blow? replace compressor/clutch assy.
