Hi Guys,
I having some vibration issues, with my 82 Caddy.
It acts like tire balance-starting at 57 MPH and contimues until about 70MPH
Varies with speed.
I just had 4 new Toyo extensa tires installed and balanced.
I had the same issue with the old tires (at slightly different speed)
Appears to be worse under acceleration (thats why I'm thinking axels)
The rims and hubs are definately true-not bent.
Everything in front end is new and alignment is good.
Rotors are true- brales NOT dragging.
Engine mounts replaced 1 year ago and are all good.
I'm thinking it might be the axels ?
They are quiet-boots replaced last year or pass side-rebuilt axel on drivers side.
There is a little rotational play in the CV joints.
Can this cause the vibration, which acts like tire balance ?
The truck is nice and smoothe under 55MPH.
Also, Is there a 90MM pass side axel with dampner, which will bolt right in ?
I have read that many people regretted installing axels without the dampner.
If there are axel(s) with dampners, which bolt up,what vechicle year and model should I look up the part #'s for ?
Thanks agian for all your help !
Mike
