Bad install is my guess.

Purdy sure this one will fit (but check first)

Hope this helps.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

you can buy the seal pressed into the retainer from TT, and from other places..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

This is the best solution. A PTFE seal is far superior to the standard rubber/spring seal. There is one problem though, the two bolts that go into it through the oil pan are 7mm vs the original which are 6mm. So you will need to drill the oil pan out a little bit to accomodate the larger bolts. I have this seal on my Scirocco and I dont suspect to see it leak for a very long time.

Just get the PTFE rear main seal for the VR6 and press it in to the orginal Rabbit seal carrier.
Or get the combo seal w/PTFE seal with the 6mm holes.
