Glow plug overide switch

Hey guys its been a while, I have just changed all 4 glow plugs on my aaz and put a new battery in but im still having issues with starting. I now believe the solenoid/relay that was put in attatched to the switch on the dash is no longer working as it should to manually prime the glow plugs. What have you guys used to do this mod and also how has it been wired up. Any help would be great. Andy
p.s. When i turn the ignition on the glow plug light is only solid for a very short time the starts to flash. I then start the car and a little time later the light will flash again,
Hope you can help I just want it to start properly now.

Yea for Vince. I followed this "pimping" and have not had a problem since. No smoke on start and always fires on the first click of the starter.

my plugs are "half ways pimped" and they heat up faster than stock wiring..
(you want as close to battery voltage at the plugs with them on. voltage drop is bad. pimpin your glow plug system gets rid of most of the voltage drop)

Oh yeah, when I went to the fat wire on them babies they would glow red like right now, on the stock wire they seemed to take half the cycle to glow. It is a short distance from a power block near the radiator but I choose to put mine back there with the fuse block. Figured I best keep it dry.
