Hello, I have removed the turbo from my AAZ due to catastrophic turbo failure.( turbine shaft broke in two). I re routed my intake and got a new exhaust put on. It runs fine although with a bit less power of course. What I'm a bit worried about is that it puts out a lot more black smoke now under load. I understand that this can be controlled by adjusting the "smoke" screw on the IP. Where is this exactly and how much should it be adjusted. ? Thanks, Paolo
The max fuel screw is probably what you will have to adjust. It is a large screw with a locknut on it above the high pressure lines on the pump. Small adjustments to this screw have a large impact on fuel delivery - only turn it about 1/4 turn at a time maximum. Usually it has a steel collar on it and it has a large slot in the end of it. Loosen it (counter clockwise) to reduce fueling.
After you reduce your fueling you may have to adjust your idle speed again!
