FWIW, a/c alternators are bigger, and more powerful than the non a/c alts..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

i added the a/c alt to my car just to get rid of the 65a stock alternator.. i hate the style of the plug that hooks to the alternator, seen too many of them burned up..

plus, it made the car charge at a higher voltage at idle..

Aren't the holes for the mounts for the 65 compared to the 90 different though?

90 amp alternators weren't available on 1.6 diesel engines until 1985...i.e., MK2 models. Your AC alternator is a 65 amp unit. The only diff between that AC alt you have and a non AC unit is the location of the mounting holes on the housing. But just to be safe, do you have the part number to the AC alternator?

okay, thank you I'll get the part number tomorrow then.

So my AC one for sale is a 65a (unless part number identifies it differently)

if you post the part number I will look it up on the ETKA and find out the amperage.

I forgot to grab the part number and pictures, but i did notice it has a W terminal on it.

I can also throw in some brackets for the AC compressor and alternator tension piece for free.
