Canadian parts sources
« on: July 12, 2011, 09:50:54 am »
Hi everyone,

I recently had my timing belt tensioner go, and the timing belt skipped several teeth.  The net result was some bent valves, and severely dented pistons.

So I'm looking at a rebuild.  I especially need some Canadian sources for quality parts - especially oversize pistons and rings.  I'd appreciate some feedback.

www.autopartsway.ca is great...good quality parts, unbeatable prices, delivered quick.  Doesn't look like they carry oversize pistons...would be good source for everything else though.

Thanks for the replies.  The dealer (in Prince George) wants over $400 per piston.  One of the local parts places (ARO) can get 0.5mm oversize for about $173 each.  It's nice though to have some on-line options that are reliable.

prothes "right way industrials" are $189/set.. you just need to use better rings than what the pistons come with..

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.
