my 92 jetta seems to be leaking fuel where the advance mechanism goes into the pump body.
I cant see it too well - dont know if theres other things on that side of the pump that can leak. (I'll be looking at a junk pump I have at home to see what else is on that side of the pump)
I wonder if anyone can tell me how hard it is to replace the seal/gasket that the advance mechanism needs?
Also - where can I get the appropriate seals/seal kit to do this repair with.
thanks!
Fix is easy to do. A couple of O rings. One on the shaft and one in the cover if I remember right. If that is all you need you might find them at an auto parts place. Just have to be able to take the diesel fuel. I did a complete rebuild so I got the entire 30 dollar kit and the rings were in that bunch. If I only needed the two I would be shopping around. Diesel truck repair shops?
