Update on the Mexican Tail Lights
« on: July 10, 2011, 02:18:25 am »

I can't fully recommend them. I mean a guy can "make" them work, but the tolerances are off (as I suspected they would be). The front turn signal lights looked GREAT, but there was a lot of scrap plastic that wasn't removed from the molding process. Also the side marker lights, while on the outside were great, the cruciform where the socket screws into will need to be cleaned out with a dremel (again, because of ***ty molding processes)

I have complained and we'll see what the guy does to remedy the situation.

....all in all, I don't think they look *too* bad.

I think they would look fine with a bumper on. I think LED stock colored would be cooler.

The mask and the shot(s) are actually an IQ test. If you are wearing or circulating, you just failed the test. I can't feel sorry for you.

I don't see why they look terrible. What's so bad about them? I mean yeah, they're different...

I'm going to take a look at doing this with the originals, I have to fabricate a backup lens, but for the most part they'er intact other than that. I suppose everyone else is a purist.

These lights remind me of a Plymouth Horizon or something of that era.  Not VW material.  Lines don't match or flow.  It looks like a Turtleneck sweater and a tuxedo or something.  Just not right you know.

They just look too ricer-y to me. I don't like the chrome stuff either. I have always like the stock wide tail-lights. But if you like them then who cares what the internet says.

They do look like shít. I am not a fan of the regular Murrican lenses cause those look like shít too. But this Mexicant specimen looks even worse. but hey, if you like them, kudos. Then you can brag and talk about how you are going to beat the shít out of someone for their internet opinion..  ???

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

I don't see why they look terrible. What's so bad about them? I mean yeah, they're different...

The only thing that is off is that you have round accents on a square car, and chrome on a non-chrome trimmed car.

They are nice lights.. but they just don't match is all.

And yeah really? Bashing someones ride or opinion is uncalled for. Trav, you posted your picture to a public site, you opened it up to public opinion.. you knew what you were getting in to. Dakotakid, not cool bro.. remember what our mothers taught us? "if you don't have anything nice to say..." That was not a 'children' only application, It just makes you look like a d****e when you dont give any sort of corrective criticism.
