Crankcase Evacuation?
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:13:05 am »
I searched, but could not find anything on this.
Has anybody tried a crankcase evacuation system on their IDI?

It is supposed to pull a slight vacuum in the crankcase, aiding with ring sealing, reducing pumping losses, and helping eliminate oil leaks.  It also would eliminate the possibility of a vent line runaway.
Anyone?

I have this kit on my gasser drag car and it works well, but seems to burn out the check valves often.
The oil separator and check valves are factory Chrysler parts you can buy at any auto parts store.
I would say if the oil separator did its job and could handle the volume of blow by it would work, but if any of
that oily mist hits the hot exhaust you're gonna leave a smoke trail.
