Missed 2 so far on Kijiji..... one a week ago, got there just as the buyer left (2001 jetta, 5 speed, loaded, like new 4500 ) one yesterday (2000 jetta needed front struts and bushings, advertized yesterday at 1000 bucks, gone within 1 hour of her getting back to me with a phone number)

Don't care if it's a mk3 or mk4 car as long as it's in GOOD shape... Don't want an automatic. Prefer buying safetied but will have it done myself if it's the right car.
Wife's '91 golf needs more work than I want to put into it. I'll trade it if someone wants a project... otherwise it will be for sale here when I replace it.

Owner is taking it for the safety in the morning, I'm betting it needs NOTHING!
This means the 1991 golf is for sale......
I'll post a proper ad with a few pics, 1.6 na car that runs well but has some issues.

Wow nice find  ;D  Hard to come by Mk3s in that great of shape with such low kms.  If I were you, I'd check the crankshaft sprocket first thing, install a new timing belt and clutched alt. pulley.

Yup. late model AAZ SHOULD already have the updated crank pulley. Bought the car from the second owner (a vw guy) who updated his wife to a 2007 golf... If I don't see a paper trail on the the timing belt that says it's recent, it will get one as soon as it gets home. I'm not iverly concerned about the clutched pully, I'm running one in my own daily that I've put over 200,000 on with no trouble.

I've never seen an AAZ with the TDI crank stock. I heard rumors that late factory rebuilds had them.

I've torn apart a few 1997 AAZs as well...
