Can I use the Quantum AC/Alternator brackets on a dasher?

I can't see why not, but it means the correct a/c pump is required, the dasher uses a pump like the Rabbits I think...

So... No possibility of using the Quantum AC pump? Is it just a mtter of swapping the pumps but continuing to use the Quantum bracket?

Also does anyone have issues with Alt. Belt tension with the AC equipped Dashers?

I'm in an a/c free country, apart from my Yankee import  for my Quantum, but  as I understnd it, the pump follows the bracket, so use Quantum brackets and Quantum  'Briggs and Stratton' lookng 'York' pump, rather than the one that looks like a starter motor.
My kit was off a 1.6 gasser, so I may have issues when I come to fit it. :-\

The Quantum uses a horrid boat-anchor York compressor (one large piston). It will sap what little power you have, but it will never die. You'll need the correct cast-iron bracket to mount it (even more weight!).

The Dasher used the Sanden rotary compressor. Lighter, but not as durable as the York. You'll need the welded/stamped steel bracket from the Dasher to mount it.

You can run either setup on any 1.6-2.0 motor from 1976-1993: gas or diesel

Or, you could fab your own auxilary brackets for the Quantum AC bracket, and then run a Sanden compressor.
