DSG Fly Wheel R&R
« on: June 08, 2011, 12:26:13 am »
I'm performing a DSG FW exchange in an '06 VW Jetta TDI. The customers concern is that there is noise coming from the transmission. Its most noticeable when starting, shutting down and when breifly throttling.  I took a flash light and peeked threw some of the visable holes between the trans and engine and noticed some black oily residue on the back side of the FW. Also just sharply rotating one of the wheels back and forth, there was noise from the FW. So I pulled the trans to inspect it further.
