Hey guys,
Just curious if anyone knows whether the 1994 Golf 1.9 TD came with keyless entry standard. It has the vacuum system locks. What does the remote talk to when you hit the button on a car that does have keyless entry? If it does I want to get a fob, else can I get an aftermarket alarm that would have keyless entry and hook it up to the vacuum system? Thanks.
I had a 1998 Golf MK3 aswell, and it did have keyless entry.
Not standard on Murrican cars. cant say for Canadia. If its the same as a Murrican car, you will need to change the alarm control module. it is located behind the headlight switch and married to the cruise control module. It is a plug and play conversion. You need the keyless entry style alarm module and the remote. Code it and you are done. For reference, the keyless entry module has a white casing and the non keyless has a black casing.
I have the module in my shed for keyless entry lol I had it on my mk3 td before
I should have read the OP more thoroughly. I was meaning not standard for 1994. Later model cars in the US got them standard but it was dependent on trim level IIRC.
