• This might be a build thread... if I could get my hands on a complete BRD (PD170) swap. I already have the cluster (I know, its not much), but I need to get all the other stuff. Anyone want to help me get this thread going? I need the swap part. Where could I possibly source this??

• The engine? Its a 16v 2.0l 170ps TDI that came in the B7 A4s in Europe.

• I have heard putting together tdi electronics from different parts is a huge pain in the ass. You have to go to the dealer to get the keys coded to the cluster and to the immobilizer and they go out of their way to make it difficult.

  coding, cluster, etc are not a problem. i can do it in house. The BRD was a factory engine for the A4 so only the IMMO stuff is going to be tricky. The rest will be plug and play for the most part.

• There is lots of guys that can take care of the IIMO stuff for you. Of couse at a price. I also know friends with connections over seas that can get info for you.

• IMMO is not a problem for me. I can take care of all that myself. Can your overseas friends hook me up with a swap?

  To get it to work you will likely need to bring a whole car over or failing that just the front clip with dash etc. Your budget will also need to be well into the 5 figures (before decimal point) to make it happen. Mixing and matching electronics is very dubious with the later TDI's (they are chassis number specific) and there will be zero factory support in North America to code things properly.

• I am well aware of what it will take. I am not concerned with VWoA support as I can get little parts from overseas easily.
  
  I already have the cluster, I just need the rest, Lol! Programming is not an issue for me. I will be doing all the work and have found most of everything I need for around $6k. I just need to figure out how to get it in the country..
