My buddy just got brand new lowering kit for a price im willing to pay but he is a 97 with the AHU, im a 96 with the AAZ, The kit says will fit AHU engine III jetta/golf from IDparts.com.

I think it should fit but id rather not deal with the hassel, anyone here know if they are the same setup?
Or if you know of any good full kits that dont lower to much for around 600-700 bucks shoot me a link.

Thanks!

Well an mk3 jetta is an mk3 jetta.. unless she has the vr6, i dont think its a different suspension..

There is probably ~15lbs difference between those two motors.. YOU SHOULD BE GOOD :)

Life is good then.
I assumed they were the same but since i couldnt find any kits that list AAZ as a application i figured i would ask before i ordered.

mk3 is mk3.. the suspension wont care what engine is driving it..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

unless that engine is 200lbs heavier like a vr would be.. then the front suspension designed for a 4cyl will NOT do well in that car.

No diff between ahu and aaz tho.

The only difference that you might want to concern yourself with is the front strut mounts from a vr, as they do raise the front end if you aren't usuing something to compensate for the weight difference. The vr mounts lift the front end of a 2 liter and diesle about 40mm.

While the vr strut mounts do have a heave duty bearing, the next best thing would be oem g60 strut mounts. The g60 eqipped cars were already built with tougher suspension components than regular 1.8 or 2 liter counterparts.
