Yes but you will risk losing the proper timing marks.

I sent mine out and got it lightened. I think it was around $100 including shipping.

yup, good point..

most gassers dont even have a TDC mark, just a timing mark.

i fought with that a while back, in my first VW.. had a weird knock when shifting, but it was because the TDC mark was not TDC.

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.
