Hi,I’ve recently swapped my 1.6td engine with an 1.9AAZ, Governor mod.2.5" downpipe and exhaustintercoolert3 turbo with blocked wastegateAll fine until I damaged my pump (one of the leavers broke and fell in when engine whas running)I still have the good pump and head from the 1.6TDQuestions:Is it wise to use the 1.6TD head? (i noticed slightly wider inlet channels which perhaps could be beneficial)Is it wise/possible to use the 1.6TD pump?thanksJurek
As long as the 1.6 head has hydraulic lifters it is a bolt on and you shouldn't experience any difficulties. Depending on the year of your AAZ you may need to buy a new timing belt tensioner. Yes it doesn't flow as well and will raise your compression ratio but it's nothing to be concerned with on a daily driver.
