FS/FT: 1991 Jetta TD
« on: May 09, 2011, 09:16:18 pm »
Reason for selling: It is simply time for a change. Spent the past 4 years getting it to where it is now. Car is located in Calgary AB.

1991 Jetta TD:
-5speed
-Cruise control
-A/C (works great)
-Power windows
-Power mirrors
-Full Recaro Trophy interior
-Black headliner, smoked Hella non-sunroof dome light.
-VDO gauges in a 42 draft designs holder. (boost, EGT, oil temp)
-CD player relocated to ashtray area. Upgraded speakers and a 10inch
sub (not the highest end stuff, but it works and sounds good)
-JDM/EDM power antenna and switch
-Votex cassette holder, modded to hide satelite radio tuner.
-EVERYTHING works on this car as it did when it left Germany 20 years
ago. Including all matching locks and OG valet key (will start the car but will not unlock the glove box)
-The car has been super reliable and a great driver.

-1.9l TD with 1.6L TD head
Roughly 50-60xxxkm's on it. Freshened from top to bottom with all new parts:
Rings
Pistons (stock bore dia)
Bearings
Seals
Head was completely gone though, the only things not replaced were the
valve guides.
Engine burns no oil, runs great, has made the trip to Vancouver and back multiple times, and Interior BC mulitiple times.

K24 turbo, DIY modded injector pump, new Bosch injectors and Beru glow plugs, intercooled, kinetics manual boost controller (set at 17 psi), aftermarket external oil cooler (B&M), custom 2.5 inch downpipe and exhaust. 16v pressure plate. Has been known to run with modded 16v's. Easily gets 650-700km's in city, and 800-900 on the highway. New Bosch remaned alternator (90amp) this summer.

-FK 60/40 cup kit, little over 3 years old, no leaks, rides very nice.
-All wheel bearings (front and rear) have been replaced over the past
 year.
-Front and rear brakes replaced 2 years ago. Vented front rotors and PBR
metal master pads. New drums and stock shoes and wheel cylinders in
 the rear.
-Control arms, ball joints and tie rods all done last year
-16x9 Keskin KT-1's. Mabye 8000km's on them and the tires (195/45R16 yokohama's)

Complete repsray last winter.
-Shaved rear emblems and body seams (all welded properly)
-Shaved bananna lights
-All fenders modified under the flares prior to paint to clear wide wheels
-Refinished skirts, flares and trim. Used SEM products and clear coated.
-Kamei eyebrow
-Smoked Ecodes with 6000K HID's With relayed headlight harness
-Foglights (all metal, not the chinese ones) with 6000K HID's Relayed
using a modified PIAA foglight harness, uses an OEM switch.
-Smoked inpro bumper lights, and side markers (wired in for turn signal,
 using OEM sealed connectors)
-The real deal hella Half smoked taillights. Wired in properly with rear foglight.
-20% tint on all windows, done while glass was removed from the car
-All new door handles with matching locks.
-New windshield
-3m'd fenders, hood and grill spoiler.

Im sure i've forgotten some things.

New strut mounts, steering rack boots, inner and outer tie rods, motor mounts and fluids were installed/replaced this winter.

The bad:
Slight ding on the drivers rear door behind the door handle.
Drivers seat bolster has a tear, foam is still good.

$6950

Will entertain offers.

Will consider trades. Mk3s (VR6 only) or Mk4, 1.8T or VR6 or ?

That is one sweet Jetta.  Good luck with the sale!   FYI the dasdubbers.com link doesn't work.  Wanted to see the build pics.

Can you tell me what those sidemarkers are?  I am looking to put some on my jetta and have been trying to find some like those.

Thanks.
