Max Piston protrusion between holes?

Does anyone know what the max variation is between holes?

This is on a 02 ALH car.
I left my Bentley at home.

I have one that is;

#1, .038 or .9652mm
#2, .036 or .9144mm
#3, .042 or 1.067mm
#4, .037 or .9398mm

These measurements are in inches as my dial indicator doesn't read mm so I converted then as accurately as I could,

Using these measurements I'll need a 2 hole gasket which is what it had but I'm more concerned about the variance between piston protrusion.

Timing belt broke and destroyed everything in the head, all 8 valves, all the lifters, broke the guides and damaged the cam.

Pretty sure the last one I measured was closer than that(it had crashed, but not so bad), you might be sporting a bended rod or 3.

That's kinda what I was thinking as well but as I didnt have a Bentley at the shop I can look up what if specs are as to max dif between holes.

So if he slightly bent the rod, but all pistons are within spec for the 2 notch.. Will it still work?? I mean if they still protrude they should still make adequate compression?

I suspect it will run just fine with the current specs.

Kinda sounds like he is going to just fix the head and give it a try.

anything more than a .004 variation cylinder to cylinder in the pockets requires you to pull a pair of pistons & Rods

As for running, you can be off  by a full notch, and the car will run well enough the uninitiated won't know anything is amiss provided everything else is good.  If you know how the car should be, it will feel a bit slow.
