Smoked a modified 6.0 Powerjoke..
« on: April 03, 2011, 12:05:25 pm »
so, i was driving to my buddies house last night, and a punk a$$ kid in a lifted up newer Ford F350 pulls out in front of me and lays down some smoke, then he keeps randomly laying coals till we got to a passing lane. then the road straightened out, and he really got on the throttle..

i shifted 3rd, pulled it clear till my power went flat (guess i really wanted around him) then about the time i was at the bed of the pickup, i grabbed 4th gear, boost came back up, and then i went cruising by him..

it was a bit hard for me to catch up, till i hit the top of 3rd gear, then i was pulling him hard..

the best part is, the truck was full of his friends, and im sure they gave him a hard time about getting passed by a german pocket rocket..

then we came to a stop sign after another mile or so, i almost stop, but then roll the sign, shift 4th gear at about 15 mph, and put the smoke pedal to the floor.. i couldnt see the F350 for a second.

god damn kids!!

had i just passed him, i wouldnt have posted up even, but the fact that i turned the tables and smoked him out, that was the best part..

"think your big truck pours coals? well check this out!!" he probably still has soot all over the front clip of his truck.. lol.

i do love flooring the smoke pedal when someone is tailgating me with an open sun-roof... and my car seems to blow a bigger cloud of coals when its warm enough to have the sun roof open.. got some chick in a mk5 or 6 jetta yesterday.. i bet you could have wiped your finger across her white hood and gotten diesel soot off it.. took her 3 big clouds to figure out that my car only smokes when her car gets too close..

your fuel screw has to be screwed in pretty far to belch coals.. just so you know.

and yea, if someone is too close in the diesel, i simply select a gear that lugs the engine, and floor it.
being that i have a n/a fuel pump, it does not limit fuel when off boost.. thats why i get such awesome smoke.

usually, when the blackness pours out, they slow down and back off quite a bit. sometimes people need 2 or 3 shots of coal before they figure it out..

when they have the sun roof open, thats when its best to pour coals..  ;D

Just a note, I was going through a bosch pump book the other day and had a diagram of fueling from a na to td pump, and the base line fueling is the same, a td can just add more on top. Not meaning to hijack, just sharing a nice tidbit I came across the other day.

Btw, I was being tailgated by a chrysler seabring and some yuppie the other day, nice 80f day... top down.....

let me just say they temporarily no longer enjoyed having a convertible.... lol

i dont see how (besides the fuel limiter pin being un touched) a TD pump can put out more fuel than an n/a fuel pump? they have the same high pressure pump in them. and the same cam plate. thats what actually pumps fuel.. and those pieces are the same.

are they talking base line (factory) fueling? or the pumps total capable fuel?

(good job on the chrysler, BTW)

You know, I would guess that it is the baseline for stock freshly built injection pump. it could be interpreted either way, but how the bosch book puts it, fueling isn't limited on a td pump, baseline is the same and additional fuel is added.

My personal favorite is when they are waving their arms around behind the windshield thinking it will make the soot dissipate!
