I've been searching long and hard online and cannot find the location of the BOV! I know its on the inlet manifold but these engines are completely new to me and I don't really know whats what to be honest! What would be the immediate effects if I was to block it off on standard tune?

You might not have one, but it is the only thing ON the intake manifold really.

If I'm not mistaken, the Eco-diesels didn't have them, and neither did most of the 1.9s. What engine do you have?

Nope, all wrong. BOV goes in the trash.

pretty sure that particular engine never got an over boost protector...
no VW diesels got an actual BOV..

take the hose off of the side of it, insert a wine cork, and trim the end of the cork off flush with the hose nipple..

Wouldn't it just blow the cork back out when I adjust the boost?

yea, if your running like 100 psi (6.9 bar) then you might blow the cork out.

sorted it, shoved a thin bolt where the spring should go, thats not gonna open ever again! Also turned the smoke screw in 1/2 a turn. Made a small difference to acceleration.
