I recently rescued a cabriolet from the junkpile for the transmission, but he let me have the whole thing for what I was going to pay for the transmission (minus some parts he'd already raped from it.)
So my question is this, I've been noticing a lot of people taking the gasser intakes and using them for their diesels when they convert them to turbo. Is this the consensus that this is the thing to do? or am I just imaging things again?
no, only people who use low-mount turbos get away with gasser intakes..
when your turbo is mounted like a stock 1.6 turbo, right behind the intake, then its hard to fit a long runner gasser intake on the engine.
people who run VNT's, and flipped stock manifolds, can easily run a gasser intake..
FWIW, the mk2 intake flows better than the mk1 unit..
