the audi is sitting up on the powerline above my house.. just sitting..

probably never going to get rid of it because of how much work i went thru to actually get it here.. lol..

took 6 qts of oil to drive it 450 miles. (couldnt believe it actually made it that far with only a tire blow out, and a shorted out battery cable (totally my fault)

it had about 3 psi of max boost the whole way home.. 55 mph at the top of the hills was rippin.. im probably just gonna pull the engine and get rid of the rest of the car. thats originally what i bought the car for, was the engine. i think it would be fun to drop it in either a porsche, a quattro, or my toyota 4runner..

i doubt i fit in a porsche 924, so thats probably out of the question..

If I was pbs, I would have been more scared to put it on the lift and get under it.  Looks a little unbalanced ;D.  Did he end up getting the job done?

Is it actually legal to drive a car around like that over there?

Depends... on the state mostly... big surprise, isn't it?  ;)

Some states have periodic safety inspections but I don't think Pooregon does. Some are rather strict about vehicle modifications but here in California they really only seem to care about emissions testing, my car is exempt from that, at least for the time being. A police officer could issue you a citation if your car deviates too much from legal standards but actual enforcement of this is both rare and arbitrary around here.

Hell, in Pooregon, you dont even have to run a car thru emissions in most places, only the more urban areas..

where i live requires no testing, so nothing i own even conforms to the emissions standards.. haha.

lol, its kinda funny, atleast once a week i will see a vehicle around here, with no windshield, or body panels missing, or something like what josh posted up..

thats mad, over here you'd get raped up the rear for driving around in a car like that. We have an MOT test every year which tests emissions (but if its registered before 1992 they only test emissions on idle and no cat is required) but they test everything safety related. You can't have any rust within 30cm of any suspension parts, or rot on any structural parts of the chassis, and all lights etc. have to work, they can even fail it if it has a crack in the lights!

yup.  the easiest way to get around that down here (because jackson county and portland are the only emission testers) is to sign your car off to a friend who has residence in the next county, have them register it and sign it back over to you. ;D  Everyone does it, the dmv knows but they can't do shizz about it.  I just tell them I lost it in a lien and I got it back.......with fresh registration :P  Cost is in the title fee, but that's easier to deal with than an unregistered vehicle.  And lastly, I heard california has a MUCH bigger budget problem than oregon.  Simple doesn't necessarily mean poor....... ;D

In the sticks here in Ohio there is no such thing as e check. Up North there is in like Akron. The only thing that our muffler shop WON'T do is hollow out a catalytic converter. The fine is 10,000, they would do it for more than that. BUT they will give free advice on how to run a sawzall :D

basically the same here..

no shops will remove them, but some shops will basically let you rent a bay for an hour or so, and show you how to do it right..
