Is mean green / spray nine safe for the auxiliary suck up tube of the pressure washer??
Got a mean dirty bay to wash.. And need some ooomph lol
I've run that and worse though mine.. Just make sure to flush it out good when your done..
purple power is corrosive..
i assume you are talking about simple green? or is there some sort of cleaner called mean green?
is what i do, is let the engine ALMOST warm up, then shut it of and spray it down with cheaner, then let the cleaner almost dry on the engine, then i just hose it off, engine comes out looking like you just pressure washed it..
DO NOT WASH THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF A GASSER W/ A DIZZY!!
it will be a couple days till it runs good again..

There is stuff called mean green which is more or less a simple green knock off... Spray-Nine is probably closer to purple power but is also a disinfectant..
Purple power can be some nasty stuff.. I use it in an old dishwasher to clean engine parts.. Set to pots and pans and it's been known to remove the paint from tin parts...
purple power will turn aluminum soo white its not even funny..
simple green has never hurt any metal ive cleaned with it..
ZEP-a-lume works very good.. its a cleaning acid specifically for aluminum and that sort of thing..
Will mostly be doing the engine bay, the engine itself is pretty spotless. I don't want it to peel paint, just the stubborn 30 year old grunge.

You should see a water pump housing after extended use as a coolant.. Simple green is amazing stuff.. You can actually safely drink the stuff yet it cleans damn good..
Jeremy, you should be fine with any sort of degreaser.. The ticket is to not let it soak on there too long.. (like for days) And once again if you're running it though the pressure washer makes sure you flush that out really well when you are done..
Hot water would be a huge help!! But if you do have a hookup to use it, make sure your pressure washer is deigned to handle hot water.. Ask me how I know that some pressure washers are not rated for use with hot water..
I used the spray on foamy orange cleaner from crappy tire as a pretreatment. I also used a crap load of other stuff through the washer, just ran a big pail of water through the pick up at the end.
I have a Karcher pressure washer, I use simple green and a scrub brush
I really dont have anything on the truck that isnt powder coated, so sometimes it's just road grime
I do use the washer on the bedrug liner .
I also use the washer with my spotless deionizer for a perfect finish..
