MK4 Boost Gauge install
« on: February 28, 2011, 05:19:45 pm »
So I got a complete VDO Cockpit style Boost Gauge and tubing kit. Whats the best tubing to use to install, the 6 feet of Nylon Tube that it came with or should I go get some rubber tubing?

I would use the included nylon tubing as nylon will give more accurate measurement because of the lack of pressure loss due to the pressure swell that could possibly occur with rubber hose, minute amount but it will swell under pressure unlike nylon till you reach higher pressures

Use one of these in the boost pipe. I thread them into the pipe then use epoxy to make sure they stay. It makes working on the car much easier with the quick disconnect.

I love those elbows.  Use the nylon tubing.
