New block with new oil pump and goodies from the old motor swapped over

Very dirty pic of the new motor, i have just spent 30 mins cleaning it but you all get the before pics... The new engine color is a surprise.....

Ok today was a very eventful day, i got the block super clean and couldnt resist the urge of painting, the head i decided to take off and give a good cleaning to and while the trans is out i an replacing the inputshaft seal... so here she is.... Once paint has dried ill start putting back on the IP and alternator and all of those fun parts..

No progress lately just retooling the garage, cleaning up the bench and waiting on my HG to come in then after thats here ill be putting on the IP and all of the other little goodies for my new motor...

Ok its been awhile and i have been side tracked with transmission maintence and time, i have gotten the motor back into the car and all i need to do is fill it full of coolant, prime the fuel system and attach some halfshafts and charge a battery, hopefully i can start her up sometime today..... 8)

Every time I see this thread title I always expect it to be a fire-breathing 12mm injection pump build.  ;D

my next motor build after i move into a house and have a real garage will be a true TD motor bored .40 over with a giles super pump with intercooler and everything, im just gonna go nuts with that motor, and i may put it in a cabby or a rabbit convertible  ;)

Well i got some good news, i got my car running tonight even if it was for only 10 seconds, it would start up and i had it at WOT but it would just barely at idle speed, i have never messed with any settings on my IP, anyone have a good FAQ for getting to know ones turbo IP and what screws affect what part of the motor ect..

our faq on making your 1.6td a faster car is a good faq to start :D
