New tool to add to my "Holiday" list...

I saw this thing at the Eastern Outdoors & Sportsman show the other week...  It worked just as slick as it does in the video..  And for $380 less tanks and regulators I didn't think it was a terribly bad deal..

I just caught wind today that the price of scrap steel just hit $13/100lbs, and the weather is supposed to be good tomorrow..  I think I may have to clean out some more junk and get me one of these...

That looks pretty cool, I know I hate cutting with a oxyacetylene torch, I aways have to go back and cut it again to get the slag to let go.......and I've always wanted to weld aluminum.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

I guess I'm not get-ten it. The tip design is unique, but you are still using oxy/acetylene to create the heat. With the right tip you can produce the same results with the "old school" equipment. There's no substitute for practice. Would the guy at the demo let somebody from the audience try it?

They did..  With the best of tips, my oxy acetylene torch doesn't cut that nice.. The biggest difference I think is that separate nozzle to blow the slag outta the way..

I didn't get a chance to try welding with it though..  For that I suspect my standard ole welding tip would be about the same, other than the pistol grip design... The thing literally weighs nothing compared to a regular torch...

Makes sense that it would use less gas too..  The oxy regulator was set to only about 6 psi and the acetylene was set about 4psi...
