Well, it looks like getting springs for the ol' MK2 is fairly hard now. Does anyone have part numbers for springs that will replace stock?
Or can we use any springs from the new VW's?

Time to upgrade your suspension. Why settle for stock? Get a set of sport springs for cheap. They don't have to be a drop spring, they can still maintain normal ride height. And will improve handling.

This is an idea too maybe.. have you thought of a mild drop. 35mm isnt too harsh of a drop and will make it handle quite nicely.

Amazon has 'em all.
I have moog all around on my rabbit and the ride is ok, the only problem is they're kinda soft and body lean is rather excessive. I don't have a front sway bar though.
Also they sit a little higher than stock.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.
I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

his 90 wolfsburg should have a front sway bar, so it should handle those Moogs a bit better.

Yeah, also being a mk2 it should be less mushy than a mk1 anyways.

I am looking at Eibach Sportline Springs, 1.5" lower, the problem is i don't want to lower, and I was told by a source I trust that MOOG's crack.
And I am not indiffernt on spending 200+ on it. I just wish i could get away with .5 or less.

I too have been serching for a spring upgrade that does not lower the car.
The closest I have come is this guy here,
http://www.srsvw.com/
Check out his site. He is in the "do not lower" camp so I warmed up to him.
Spoke to him on the phone, but no mk2 springs at present.
Maybe if there was some demand he might get some made?
If you find some springs let me know

Yes I know of SRS, big fan of them. I too called and was in tears upon learning the bad new of no MK2 parts...
I have ordered the Eibach Sportline Springs but I am modifying my suspension heavily to compensate for the drop, and still lift it.
