What libbypapa said.. and I'm in the same situation, currently running a stock 1.6L NA pump on my TD with no issues.
Mark if I understand correctly..is the turbo still being used with the N/A inj pump
Yes the turbo still functions although the NA pump won't give you extra fuel under boost.
The Jetta Ecodiesel (1.6L) comes with a NA style pump and a turbo from the factory.. the turbo simply pushes more air into the engine for emissions purpose. It works fine, there are no issues with installing a NA pump on a TD. Just install and drive.
I have heard that the boost aneroid is to keep the engine from smoking when you get into the throttle. but the other way makes sense and it was Just hearsay
i care about the smoke and fuel, and my car smokes badly, im desperate and dont know what to do. At the begining this "arenoid thing" was leaking fuel and the car was smokin a lot, then i fixed it, its not leaking anymore but the car still smokes a lot.........
