Also this injection pump doesnt have the "altimiiter". The diaphram looking think on top of the IP. What does this do and does it matter that one pump has it and the other one does not??
I'm going to try -NOT- to confuse you too much - hopefully.
89-92 Non-Turbo Diesel / Non-ECO Diesel .... just the standard NA Diesel ... used an altitude adjusting system ... it works similar - but exactly opposite - of a Turbo Diesel system.
The spaceship on top of 89-92 NA Decreases fueling under circumstances. (when device on fenderwell senses thinner atmosphere - it actuates)
The spaceship on top of 83-92 TboDzl Increases fueling under circumstances. (when boost pressure builds in intake - it actuates)
In other words - you don't need the altitude aneroid on your car/injection pump. I've even disabled them on my both my 89's.
The pump you are looking to buy is most likely from an 81-88 NA Diesel. With it being one of Giles 'performance' rebuilds - i'd be all over it in a heart beat. If the asking price is high, i'd want to see the receipt from Giles for the job. Giles also does standard/basic rebuilds ... which would still be top notch ... but not as valuable.
His performance rebuilds are VERY desirable.
As mentioned by ARB, your exisitng injector fuel lines likely will NOT bolt up/match correctly at the pump end. Due to lengths and bends. See if you can also get the hardlines from the car that the pump was installed on.
There are basically 4 styles of hardlines between Mk1 and Mk2 Diesels. NA - TD - Altitude - ECO.
From what i'm told - none will interchange properly from one pump style to another.
