1.9L A2 vs 1.6L A1
« on: January 09, 2006, 05:48:50 am »
So I found myself next to BlackTie TD at a red light. Thought I'd be a hotdog and wallop him with a second gear launch. Usually (in hindsight, usually means with summer tires, on dry pavement) this provides somewhat of a jaw-drop response from the fart-can equipped sap on the receiving end  of this stunt, followed by a seeya later. (at least until midway through third! damn no-rev's 1.9L    )
Anyway summer tires they're not, and dry it wasn't and while I sat there wasting my winter tires, giggling like a schoolgirl (in a show I'd like to have seen from the outside, cuz when the tires finally dried the pavement on the other side of the intersection, they gave a great howl, and the car lunged forward with the sudden grip) BTTD took off and left me a smokey calling card.
D'oh!
That's the second time i've been bent over by a 1.6 car.

bahahaa well i cheated. i thought you were motioning for a pull through 1st and 2nd (to the bridge), not 2nd gear launch.

i had zero traction either with the p155 winter tires, so i was quickly out of 1st and into 2nd, but i did use 1st to get off the line so you probably would have had me.

 i wondered why i shot ahead of you off the line so quick. makes sense

i've got nothing on you at speed in 5th...
