Stainless manifold?
«
on:

Lookin for aftermarket exhaust manifolds for my 1.6td with a k24 turbo. I would like something stainless and would rather not build it myself but i can if needed. Ive done some searching and have come up with nothing and had a hard time even finding used factory manifolds. If there is anything out there post it up please.
-Thanks.

Is it just for appearance sake because your engine is now pointing in the wrong direction?
You would probably have to had one made, but good news is that design is not a big issue. No matter how efficient the manifold is, when it hits the exhaust power centrifugal air cleaner
it bottlenecks.

you want to buy a pre built stainless manifold for a suzuki w/ a vw diesel?
i think you have a better chance of seeing god, or mick jager. one of the 2. lmfao..
its really not that hard to build a turbo manifold. ive built turbo manifolds for lots of stuff, from briggs lawn mowers, to chevy engines..

the reason im looking for a premade manifold is because i am under the impression that i have a crack in mine. And i dont want a factory one only to crack again. Im not concerned of the difficulty in making one, i simply was hoping there was something out there. I believe the fact that its in a samurai makes no difference, i noticed the audi's with the idi in them have the manifold with the turbo below it, im pretty sure mine is a standard transverse mounted manifold with turbo on top, i may have that backwards please correct me if im wrong.

your turbo in the center? or off to one side of the mani? cause transverse have center mount turbos, and longitudinal manifolds mount down low, towards #4 cylinder.

and im not saying that the sammi has much to do with it. or the IDI has anything to do with it either. but neither (VW diesels or sammi's) have a very big after market support system as for ways of sweet parts like stainless turbo headers. (pretty sure thats what you are after)
might be able to get a turbo manifold/header for a ABA w/ a T3 flange on it off ebay.. but thats about all i can think of unless your gonna pay an arm and a leg for a turbo mani like the one BFI sells.

i dont know about the support for vw diesels, but samurais have a very good aftermarket so good you can actually buy a kit to convert to a vw diesel and every weak link on the vehicle has an upgrade you can buy out of the box. I have a center mounted turbo that is above the manifold not below. Working at a machine shop equipped with a cnc mill and every tool i would need i have no question of how to do it, but sometimes id rather save time than money. Ill look into BFI ive never heard of them. Any other brands that may have what im looking for? thanks for the response

nobody offers a manifold with a trapezoid VW diesel flange that i know of.. most companies only make T3 flanged turbo manifolds..
