MKIV ignition switch in MKII column
« on: January 07, 2006, 01:56:17 pm »
Hi all,

I'm just starting in on the electrical bits on the A2 TDI. I have a stock MKII steering column and I would like to use my NB key, along with the key reader I bought, and put in a MKIV ignition switch in the MKII steering column. Has anyone done this? Is it doable without mangling too much?

I've read in other TDI setup and you might want to ask MR DAVE (on the Vortex)  but I believe that you can easily use a MKIII Cabrio ignition switch and setup so that you can use your NB key, etc...

Yeah. I'll do that. Dave's the one I bought the engine from. He had to hide the key in the column because the MKIII switch couldn't read the MKIV key.
