Feeler: MK2 AC delete, what brackets?
« on: December 17, 2010, 08:08:52 pm »
A friend of mine with a '92 eco diesel jetta was telling me he wanted to ditch the compressor and move the alternator down lower. I'm pretty ignorant about MK2's so I didn't know what to tell him.

Would a stock AC'less eco diesel with power steering have the alt way down low where the compressor used to be? I assume the same alt will work?

So does anyone have some of these brackets that they are willing to part with? If so I'll let the guy know. Thanks
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Same main bracket, AC or not.
Adjuster is different.

Grinding some of the bracket and alternator will allow it to rotate down farther.
