Complete 1.6TD drivetrain drop on MKII doable ?

Scrapping one of my Jetta's that has 600,000 km+ plus and
like mentioned in a previous post I found a cleaner one with half
as many km's. Will transfer all my goodies such as a Flair intrerior,
susp. and so on.

I will keep the rear axle beam and front subframe / drivetrain / steering rack
which are as new once the yearly rustproofing grime is wiped off.

Question being : Is it possible to just lift the car off the whole motor / tranny /
steering rack / subframe / rotors / CV intact in one swift move ?
I have access to a lift in my neighbours garage.
Same would be done with the rustfree rear axle beam.

All this to get bolted up onto a fairly clean Alpine White '92 MKII GTI shell.
I will be cleaning up the underbody before the installation.

not  a complete drop out, but if you disconnect the top strut nut, then it should come out. and the brake hoses. and steering u joint.

Good, yes what I thought 
Good clean fast way of getting access to everything to clean up the
shell / undercarriage and do any necesary repairs / cleaning on the engine etc.

and its most likely gonna be kinda difficult (because its soo bulky) to drop everything as one piece.

im not positive, as ive never done it.

If you go to your local VW dealership, that's how they do most engine repair work now. They have a special elevated cradle that they position under the engine bay on a 2-post lift. Unplug the main engine connector, steering rack coupler and then just drop the whole thing out. In fact, i think it's the only way to work on the W8 motor.

They keep coming my way, just bought an '85 1.6D Jetta off
of our shop neighbour for $150.00 with a 10,000km fresh rebuild.
( he was a heavy equip. mechanic before opening up his machine shop )
Body shot but will try out the drivetrain drop and ship the unit over
to DMF Diesel's warehouse for futur install in my brother's repainted '92.
I get a fresh pair of aero headlights and newish of the following :
gas struts x 4 , rad, brakes, custom fabbed glowplug harness and
4 narrow winters on rims ( ugly 13's but so what ) plus the relays
and whatever doorseals and plastics I deem to be in good condition !

The engine will not be fully supported by just removing the suspension subframe. The front engine mount has it's own subfame that will also have to be removed from the chassis. Either way, support both subframes and you should be OK.
