Front Mount InterCoolers: how to mount them?!
« on: December 15, 2010, 05:54:08 pm »
Hi again guys,

i just picked up a FMIC from a 2.0 Audi S3, and im struggling to work out how and where to mount it to the mk2, so if you run a FMIC, would you post up some pics and a brief description of how you managed it please?

The more pics the better  :)

  Cheers,
             Matt

post up a pic of the intercooler in question..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

are those coolers sitting up side down? or is that how they mount? cause i cant see that being very easy to plumb or mount with the in/out at the bottom. there most likely gonna have to be at the top so it clears the engine easier.

it wouldn't be worth all the grief. I would find a cheap IC from ebay. I have bought two from i think it was CRX racing...
anyways they are under $100. Loads of different dimensions to choose from. Delta fin intercoolers. helicoiled mounts on the top and bottom. all aluminum. really easy to do on my mk2.

sorry no the plubing kit i got from crx racing. the intercooler is from this seller.
