Help identifying a few bits - Please

Buttoning up just a few odds and ends after getting the barn find rabbit running.
It's a 1.6 non turbo diesel.  A few things that I am curious about:


I've got a couple different injection pumps, but only one of them has this little plastic plunger on it.
It's the little black plastic box with the plunger.  Right under throttle cable.  What is this for?  What does it do?





I also have 2 electrical connections that I cannot see what they are supposed to be hooked up to.  They are in a wire loom with the wire for the fuel pump cut off, and with the "W" terminal for the alternator.  Both connections have 2 wires and the rubber boot on them shown.  If someone could tell me what these are for, it would also be greatly appreciated.

Got my answer from someone on vortex. 
Apparently both the wires and the little plunger thing have to do with the up-shift light in the cluster.
