1) Location?
2) Is the diesel turbo or non turbo? If it has a turbo, is it Ecodiesel trim?

You didn't even state miles or kilometres, or currency.. I have no idea where you're from. The above two info affect the car's value greatly.

Here in Vancouver BC, Canada, your car at 100,000km is worth $5,000 CAD minimum, easy. A little more than that is possible, especially if it's turbo.

I don't know about a '90 jetta, but the older ('99) TDI's are selling well over  bluebook here in Colorado, and even more in California.  $8,000 to $11,000 for a $7,000 bluebook.  80's rabbits with 200k on them are selling for as much as $2,000, depending on condition.  If you advertise it to the west coast market yours should be somewhere in between there -- maybe $4,000 or $5,000 if you are patient.  I suspect people in Maryland are not willing to pay near as much for it.

Here in NC it would sell for around $2000. You might be better off putting it up on EBay with a complete discription and history of the car. They seem to be going for around $3000 or so.  Where at in Md? I know a turbo would add an easy $500 to the price if not more.  Every time once comes up for sale here, by the time I get to look at it, it is sold. They seem to be selling well.

Here in new york it would fetch $1500 to $2000. BTW wanna sell it. I lost my 97 jetta tdi to a scumbag of the earth. I hit a 12 pointer deer at 75mph, my insurance did not cover deer damage. so I took it to a well Known bodyshop, got a estamate of $2700. well he found "hidden damage" long story short with towing, storage, and all kind of other bogus ***. final price $8,295!!!!!!!  i argued with the owner, after all it had 200,000 miles on the car.  so I took the owner to small claims and lost my case cause i signd the work order allowing the shop to fix the car, and the order had a statemet saying in not so many words that the estamate is just that and price can varry to cover hidden damage etc etc, well they put a lien on the car, NOW the owner of the shop is driving the car, and i am out.  so now i am driving a free 84 pontiac fiero junk box.  i wanna get a diesel back on the road asap, but all the junkers i got need to much work.  sorry for the long post, it just annoys the *** out of me everytime i think about it.
so yea about $2000 if its in as good a shape as you say. chris

seems up there, got any pics. would have to be damn near show room condition to get 3100. if it was a turbo diesel then that would be a better price, if it was a automatic td then thats a good price.  I cant go much more than 2500, for 3000 i can buy a 98tdi that needs a exhaust system and rear brakes, but after owning a tdi i like the old 1.6l. i think they are stronger ant take much more abuse.

look on ebay, see what they are getting for a clean a2. thanks chris
