push lok?
« on: December 02, 2010, 11:52:19 pm »
hey there guys, what do you think about using Parkers pushlok 836 hose and fittings for oil lines?

specifically for oil coolers and turbo oil feeds.

Parker states the hose/fitting combo to be good to 300* and 250PSI which should be more than sufficient, but I haven't seen anyone(even when I was looking for it) use pushlok for oil feeds and the like.

the low temp pushlok is often used for fuel line, and is good to 200*

what do you guys think?

I tried it for a few moments on my oil pressure gauge. It was when I had a problem with the compression fitting. I didn't have a good way to make a seal on the gauge line and took it off.

I also ended up ditching the ebay rubber/stainless drain on my turbo and tried this for the oil drain. It kinks way too easy. You can't do a tight radius without it collapsing on itself. Really even a bend of much any kind with the 5/8" anyway. In a perfect straight line it would work fine. I ended up using Weatherhead's Suction line. It is basically the same thing except you need to hose clamp it and it has a stainless ribbon wrap that keeps it from collapsing when bent...or if you pull fluid through it like it is designed for. The problem with it is there is only certain sizes.

I use it for my remote oil filter. The remote oil filter kit I bought from Summit started leaking from the hoses after a couple of weeks. I went to the nearest Parker store around here and he showed med the push lok system.

I had my doubts about it but it seems to hold up just fine.

I'd love something like for my turbo oil feed line.
In for info!

I definately like the stainless braided on the pressure side and the High temperature suction and return hose rated for fuels and oils works tons better than the push lok. The spiral around the outside lets it not kink on itself.
I am using the suction with the push lock barbs and 2 worm gear clamps on each end. 0 leaks and no troubles in 2 months 4,000 miles.
