headlights just all stopped working?
« on: December 02, 2010, 05:44:29 pm »
drove home, worked fine. Pulled in to the drive, waiting for the girly to come out of the house I switched off my headlights and left the parking lights on.. and she looked out the window I went to pull the high beams and flash at her, but nothing. The yellow light came on and stayed on and the headlights do not work.. High nor Low work. turn switch to full off, back to park yellow light still on. go to headlight position, light dims but still no headlights. go back to off and turn the car off. turn the switch back to parking lights and my cabin fan turns on for a second or two.. KEY OFF wth has just happened here??? Those circuits dont even cross anywhere do they?!

I was the 1st viewer....
Sorry no help, but I would guess that the headlight switch gave up the ghost. That or a faulty ground somewhere. You relayed the headlamps also, could be a relay, but both high and low relays at the same time is funky. How do you have the main power going to the relays? Fused? might check that.

If that is a Mk. I, I would be looking at the fuse panel and see if water is coming into the car and destroying the panel.
The mask and the shot(s) are actually an IQ test. If you are wearing or circulating, you just failed the test. I can't feel sorry for you.

i never replied to my own thread! lol Got it figured out.. $#@^$@% Corrosion! at the head light connectors. I am going to removing all the stock headlight wiring anyhow, as I will be relaying them for maximum effectiveness!! And possibly locating some siiick H4 setups ;) lol
