There is two that i am looking at from Race land, and they appear to have different looking springs.


Lowering Springs for VW Golf Jetta I Mk1 (Does not fit Cabriolet)

Golf I 1.6 GTi / 1.8 GTi / Jetta 1.6 GLi /1.8 GTi / 1.6D

Drop: 25mm F/R



Lowering Springs for VW Golf Jetta I Mk1 (Does not fit Cabriolet)

Golf I / Jetta I 1.1 / 1.3 / 1.5 / 1.6 excluding GTi /GLi

Drop: 40mm F/R



The first one that seems more geared towards the GTI and GLI's is only an inch drop, but seems a far more aggressive coil. Why would this be? Wouldnt you want the 40mm drop to be the stiffer and not the 25mm drop?

$58 for a nearly stock ride height.. seems it may be the ticket.. I'll have to think about it lol

if you cut coils, just remember that the spring rate gets stiffer with every coil you cut.. even part of a coil can change the ride firmness..

i would go with the -25mm springs, or a set of sport, stock ride height springs...

Higher spring rates and firmer damping?

Cutting your springs will almost always result in a crappy bouncy ride for the reasons mentioned above. Might be ok if you went to stiffer shocks to deal with the now stiffer springs but on stock shocks it will suck and eventually blow the shocks out completely.

All you need to eliminate a little wheel gap is 4 Short blocks. That will give you lowering without changing springs LOL

Got some parts on the way to lower me down
