The pre electronic 6.5's had a DB2, pretty much a warmed up version of the 6.2 pump I think.. And no LDA like device on them.. Looked at a bunch of industrial and farm machinery, not much turbo stuff with a DB2 pump, and the few things I did find have no LDA like device.. So I'm guessing if something of the sort exists it made at the same factory that makes .020 over pistons for a 1.5 ..Boosting the heck out of a GM 5.7 is anything over 0 psi stock, and 5 psi with mods... AS far as the Gutlass goes it's gonna be NA, it's just too tight under the hood.. I did however find a Buick Wagon on the cheap that already has a 6.5 turbo grafted on it on it.. Engine is a rebuild Goodwrench unit meaning it's the better DX block.. During the rebuild it had all the goodies done, studs, copper gaskets, heads CC'ed.. But the pump crapped out after a few thousand miles and the trans is questionable.. The rest of the car is fair.. I figure when reality finally sets in he'll drop the price down to my ballpark...
I scooped up something at the bone yard today.. It's an exhaust manifold from a mid 80's Olds 307 gasser.. Any reason why I couldn't use the oxygen sensor port to mount the thremocouple for an EGT gauge?
