Clocking turbo
« on: November 15, 2010, 10:05:14 pm »
They way my compounds are going to be set up, I'll need to clock my LP turbo. I've loosened off all the bolts without trouble and I can rotate the cold side quite easily, but I cannot get the hot side to rotate on the housing. Any suggestions on getting it to free up? I've been playing around with heat (MAPP torch) and penetrating fluid but I can't get it to budge

enough boost is when you have 3 dimple marks in the hood from the valve cover nuts..  ;D

Heat the seam much longer than you think you need to and coupled with judicious use of hammer and punch and it will be free.

Has anyone told you today that you're awesome?

More heat than I thought I needed did the trick! Burnt myself on the turbo 5min later, but it's spinning nice and free now
