be careful, rocks, sticks, road debrits anything like that.. can open the valve.. ive seen more engines than i care to, blow up from those stupid friggen valves.. be out offroading, and then out of nowhere, your engine starts knocking.. was not impressed.. when i rebuilt his engine i took that valve out of the oil pan and threw it as far as i could..
this is just my $.02,
but then again, not all of you guys drive your vehicles like we do, in the places that we do..
i value the bearings in my engine.. it doesnt bother me to take 22 seconds to twist the drain plug out with a wrench..
and then another 22 seconds to put it back in and tighten it down.
i could see how these valves would be GREAT if you were a fleet mechanic for over 100 cars, and did multiple oil changes every day..
ive also seen things come up, whammy the oil pan, and break that valve right off..
Again , I have the huge barbeque grill on the bottom so this make's it easier to drain....
Nothing can get close to the pan...
want a pic?

I would just drill a hole in the oil pan guard.
I've always wanted to use an Oil extractor like this.
Top that with a centrifuge oil filter, and you'd never have to worry about oil drain pans ever again.
