Reverse
« on: October 29, 2010, 02:22:16 pm »
I have a hard time getting my shifter to stay in reverse. Is there an adjustment or an adjustable "dogbone"? Or could I cut it, thread it and put a coupling in it? I'm talking about my beloved '81 caddy 8, by the way. 8)

There is adjustment on the shifter linkage, but before you go too far check out the bushings in the shifter linkage..   They are notorius for being worn and sloppy..   The other thing to check is your motor mounts, specifically the one towards the rear that's bolted tot he trans..
