what IP reseal kit do I need?
« on: October 28, 2010, 12:51:32 am »
I'm pretty sure my injection pump is leaking at the back. I'd like to reseal it on my own due to the fact that I'm dirt poor at the moment...

How do I know which kit I need? I've searched/read enough to expect a Bosch reseal kit for about $30 and not to include the front seal or bushings... but can't find any info on where (online) I can order one. Or should I try the local Autozone/O'Rielly/CarQuest/etc.? (hate dealing with those people, if it's not a Ford/Chev truck, they know nothing about it)

Find your local bosch service center,.. there is a locator on the internet.

NA pump? DGK-126,..
and a shaft seal,
 pretty sure it's 17mm?

 For a TD pump;
 a DGK-126,
with the o-ring for the aneroid (can't find the part number but the bosch guy should know)
 and 17mm? shaft seal
If you get a DGK-121 it'll have the aneroid o-ring,.. along with a 19mm shaft seal you don't need.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Pretty good price on a seal set,.. even gives you the injector screw-on covers.
I don't see TD applications mentioned in the list,.. or see the little o-ring for the enrichment pin.

Mine is a 1.6L NA so I guess a Bosch reseal kit # DGK-126 is what I'm looking for then?

Find your local bosch service center,.. there is a locator on the internet.

The closest one in UT is 4 hours away according to the finder.

I guess I'll check out the e-bay one a little closer, I just worry it's not what it appears to be.

Thanks guys!!

Hey Spearco, you can get IP bushings? How much? Are they real bosch ones or nameless chinese? I've got some "from a certain guy that sells chinese stuff" that I could use if I have to. Thanks

His name is Colby and as soon as I can afford all the TD parts, he'll be out there helping me. I did that with my daughter too :D
