MK II Radiator Fan Install MKI Caddy

Got a 16 v harness, made a another relay fuse to battery

Installed new MKII 16v a/c fan 250 watt vesus 150 watt
6 blades versus 4 blades

It turned on at 200 and it was so quiet now I didnt tell it was on, it's has much more pulling  power, was on for a few seconds before turning off

Great Mod, I did the MKII fan support also, Better fitment than the MKI upper U clip on the fan support to core support...

Iam not running a/c, the switch is a 85/92 temp
I belive it's turning on at the higher temp rather than the lower ( wiring ) I think the other high speed function of this fan only turns on with the a/c realy installed on during when the a/c compressor is installed ?

this must be the one that just has one motor and fan? thats the big bulky unit.. the dual fan unit would have been a better upgrade..

they move SOOO MUCH MORE AIR than one fan could think of moving..

Dual is a different radiator fan support

I went from 575 mm to 675 mm on the radiator , the new 2' deep intercooler that iam having made custom will fit on the 675 mm front tab's

did you get a 16v rocco rad fan? or a mk2 16v rad fan? the mk2 16v fan and mk3 fan are ALMOST interchangeable. just cut ~1" off the bottom..

the fan in my 16v car, and the fan in my 8v GTI are almost identical, just a different plug on the fan motor.. had to swap the plug on my GTI wiring for one off a CE2 car (90-98 fan pigtail)

I got a new scirocco16 v a/c fan and  used fan support , powder coated satin

16 v wiring harnees with a 20 amp relay wired into the battery

perfect, waiting on my cutom 1-1/2 thick intercooler made for the 675 mm radiator ( bolt on )

cool, but i still would have used the thin dual fans.. they look ALOT cleaner to me atleast.. and your truck is a pretty clean ride G.B..

I Found a 1996 jetta 1.9 fan support dual ) for 25.00

New fan is 41.50 ( three pin ) and I will buy a new aux fan and belt from AZautohaus if it fit's the 675 mm Radiator ,the stock MKIII is 628 mm

This will allow with the thinner blade I can move it a tad to the right for more IC tube roo

Moving the battery ( optima 1000 cca ) with a cnc mount 90 degrees gave more room for the side intercooler tube

Waiting on my Bedrug for the bed and a custom Jetta cluster in white for my jetta dash swap in two week's.

I will be able to throw my yamaha superjet in the back of the caddy and start wave jumping again here in Orange County

Was 80 degree's at the beach yesterday

MKIII DUAL IS  RADIATOR IS 628 X 377
FAN SHROUD IS 15 X 27

MKII IS 675 MM
SHROUD 13 X 28

Tab's wont mount

MKIII is to tall for a MKI core support

used mk3 Jetta slim dual fans.. they are too tall for a mk2 rad as they come stock tho. so you have to shorten it a bit. and i just used some chunks of scrap aluminum for my mounting tabs..

I want complete coverage, So I will send the extra 675 mm radiator to Flex A lite, I hope to get a 2-5/8 thickness with no gap's

There model 340 looks nice

I want to use the mounting tab's on the tank as bellinterooler is doing on the opposite side

i dont even care about complete coverage.. the original fan never let my car get hot. so im really not worried with 2 fans..

the stock fan doesnt even completely cover the radiator..

Again, it's not about your Installation..

I'am showing another option

Since the custom bell intercooler will cover this radiator ( front) and partial  intercoolers are not as efficent as complete coverages ( oem VW )

Complete coverage of a fan shroud will draw more air and it will mount to the tank tab's and have a seal around the fan shroud for efficent seal.

I make intercooler seal's for Cessna Aircraft ( 550 CU ) twin turbo charged, 25 new aircraft per month
So I do know how to properly seal a Intercooler...

I have been mfg aircraft seals and duct's for over twenty years now...

i wasnt saying anything bad about anything, just so you know.. or about your build..

just that it doesnt matter to me that it isnt PERFECTLY sealed. its a VW, not a Cessna.. thats how i think about it.

and being me, i never drop over $1000 on whole cars.. and being you, you regularly drop over that much on a couple parts!

now thats devotion.. atleast your spending your money on a BAD ASS caddy, rather than a civic! lol.
